At Kuehne+Nagel, we have consistently implemented our NO HARM mission through training and monitoring of various incidents.
In 2022, we began implementing a new Safety Anchor. The Safety Anchors were created to raise awareness of health and safety issues in our operations and to prevent incidents - based on the risk analyses we conduct and situations that are potentially dangerous to the health and lives of employees and to ensure the continuity of logistics operations.
Our safety performance has reached its best level ever, and our lost time incident rate (LTIF) continues to show a downward trend. We record all such incidents after they occur. Depending on the severity of the incident, reporting to management (top level) is done within 24 hours or on a quarterly basis. Internal audit and due diligence checks ensure data quality at national, regional and global levels - LTIF is recorded as the number of LTIs per 1,000,000 working hours over a 12-month period.
Our health and safety goals have a solid foundation in the form of an integrated management system and appropriate documentation. The Health and Safety Management System (SHMS) covers all Kuehne+Nagel entities and is ISO 45001 certified.
Working with Kuehne+Nagel means:
- Logistics operations are conducted in a safe manner for employees, partners and communities alike, thanks to transparent policies and systems in place
- The company identifies and reports any hazardous situations and implements continuous improvements
- You can receive environmental advice on the supply chain at any time
In 2021, we implemented the HSE app, encouraging employees to intervene when unsafe working conditions are identified and then report such situations. The simple HSE app has made the process easier, and reports made using it are fully anonymous.
