The portfolio of customs services provided by Kuehne + Nagel includes not only standard customs clearance and transit, but also simplified customs clearance with deferred payment of VAT after prior verification by our customs agency.

The purpose of the “European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods” (ADR) is to ensure that dangerous goods being carried by road can cross international borders freely, as long as goods, vehicles and drivers comply with its provisions.

Airfreight

Basic types of containers are:

  • Open top
  • Flat rack
  • Standard

It is a minimum rate (weight/measurement). With the use of the formula for calculation of sea freight, the higher value (quantity of tons or cubic metres) is selected and multiplied by the specified freight rate. If the calculated freight is lower than the minimum rate, the minimum rate is to be adopted (weight/ measurement).

Depending on the distance of a port of departure or destination, the transit time (the time of physical movement of a ship from a port to a port) can be very different. LCL corresponds to LTL in road transport. As in the road transport, we collect cargo from many consignors to may consignees in one means of transportation - in this case, it is a container.

For general cargo on long - haul flights (ie. lower deck) = 160 cm

The amount of freight pallets for aircraft depends on the type of aircraft (ie. main deck) - 240-260 cm - every time the height above 160 cm is checked with the airline.

Overland

Groupage shipments will be shipped on either industrial or euro pallets.

General cargo is suitable for groupage shipments by road but have to adhere to the network cargo standard which is defined as follows:

  • Maximum weight per shipment 2500 kg
  • Maximum weight per unit 1500 kg  
  • Maximum length per unit 2.40 m
  • Maximum height per unit  2.20 m
  • Maximum width 2.40 m

The difference between euro and industrial pallets is the size. The dimensions are the following:

  • Industry pallet: 120 x 100 x 25 cm
  • Euro pallet: 120 x 80 x 25 cm

Deliveries are realized to the ramp in recipient's warehouse or in case of loading ramp's lack to ground level.

Notify service in Poland and in the most countries of EuroLink network is gratuitous, performed according to instructions included in shipping order (isn't standard service performed to each order). It is necessary to put appropriate instructions in shipping order. In Italy and Belgium this service is paid.

Kuehne+Nagel standard responsibility is compatible with FIAT's Model Conditions. Kuehne+Nagel offers each time possibility to buy additional CARGO insurance, which cost is calculated depending to value and type of insured cargo.

Import orders should be sent before 2 p.m. in the day before the planned date of receipt. Export orders should be send before 3 p.m. in the day before planned date of receipt. Export orders send  after determined date or in planned date of receipt are each time verified to check and find possibilities of goods receipt.

Kuehne+Nagel offers EuroLink First product, which is available in the most EuroLink network countries. This service is a paid, priority (non-guaranteed) delivery. There are limits associated with purchase a product due to the shipment specifics. More details are verified with Operations Department.

Insurance & Customs

We can guarantee you a compensation up to the full insured value of your goods, regardless of cause or fault of carriers. Detailed information can be found on our global website (English only) and from our insurance brokers in 30 countries.

In case of damage to the package, the resulting damage will be fully compensated. 
 

Yes. Kuehne+Nagel arranges customs brokerage service for all levels of complexity. Kuehne Nagel provides all customs services: customs document preparation and delivery, management of the clearance process, import document preparation, obtaining regulatory documents. You simply have to select it during the booking process. 

By using our booking system the whole custom clearance process will be executed by licensed Kuehne+Nagel employees. You just have to hand all documents to our employees and it will be taken care of the whole process.
