Kuehne+Nagel has opened a dedicated, state-of-the-art distribution centre in Szczecin. The nearly 21,000 square meter facility is equipped with 18 loading docks and modern warehousing solutions, including a drive-in racking system, palletizing robots, telescopic conveyors, automated wrapping machines and film wrapping.
Kuehne+Nagel comprehensively manages the customer's logistics from the arrival of the products at the ports of Gdansk and Gdynia, through the unloading of the containers, customs clearance, to the collection of the goods at the centre in Szczecin. Processes such as palletizing, filming, picking and labeling support the preparation of the customer's products for further distribution. Kuehne+Nagel uses its extensive European road network to ensure efficient delivery both in the B2C channel through e-commerce services and to regional retailers in the B2B channel in Poland and Western Europe.
Kuehne+Nagel provide value-added services (VAS), including returns management in the B2B channel, labeling and packaging to meet the requirements of individual distribution networks, and co-packing of products into promotional kits.
Kuehne+Nagel manages the distribution centre using its own warehouse management system (WMS), which is integrated with the customer's ERP system.
"Strategically located with good access to highways, seaports and an efficient road connection to the seaports, the Szczecin centre will ensure efficient distribution of the customer's products throughout Western Europe and Poland. The opening of the new facility will initially create dozens of new jobs. By providing reliable and comprehensive inbound and outbound logistics services, we enable our customers to focus more on the core aspects of their business, leading to their dynamic growth" – said Christophe Le Corre, Contract Logistics Director at Kuehne+Nagel Poland.
