Innovation and technology are the fundamental pillars of Kuehne+Nagel. We believe that innovation must be linked to sustainability in order to deliver the best results.
In 2021, Kuehne+Nagel defined science-based targets based on the absolute reduction method. Kuehne+Nagel's task is to integrate industry best practices in this area into the wider supply chain: through service offerings based on the latest data-driven low-carbon technologies. Using the Green Technology Roadmap, we are using our advantage to drive the uptake of zero-emission transportation solutions as they become market-ready.
We emphasize combining different solutions. We are also committed to developing smart technologies, information technology, business models and supplier and customer engagement. Here are some examples of how we are responsible for making a positive impact on the environment through our technology:
- processing and analyzing big data and using predictive analytics,
- full visibility into carbon emissions associated with shipping,
- digitization of existing transportation reservation and ordering systems,
- use of alternative fuels such as biofuels.
We have taken a number of important steps to promote technological sustainability, such as installing LED lighting in our offices and warehouses and supporting a cleaner energy mix in terms of renewable energy.
The evolution of our value chain will play a key role in the future. It is an integral part of Roadmap 2026 and Vision 2030 and is shaping our decarbonization offerings, focusing on new low-carbon transportation technologies.
